Shop Clerk

BellaTEX Inc is seeking a Shop Clerk. Qualified candidates must be safety conscious and skilled in multitasking. This is an entry level position with various responsibilities in the process of assembly, fabrication and shipping of custom curtains and rigging components. Work will be performed both alone and at times in a team environment. Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions precisely are required. BellaTEX Shop Clerk

The BellaTEX shop clerk is responsible for various tasks throughout the process flow of manufacturing stage curtains and fabrication of stage rigging components. This position requires a dedicated and Self-motivated, versatile individual with a high energy level that is skilled in multitasking. This individual must be able to stand for long periods of time and frequently lift heavy objects. the following is a partial list of the responsibilities for this position:


1.   Cut Department

Within the cut department, fabric is moved from the holding area to the cut table. Following detailed instructions on build sheets and cut tags, this fabric is cut into panels and stacked for moving to the sew tables.

2.   Finishing/Prep Department

After a project has completed the Sew Floor Process it is dropped into a rolling bin at the end of the sew table. These bins are moved by the shop clerk to the Finishing area and according to the information on the build sheet,  the top finish tasks  (such as grommets & ties) are completed. The bin is then moved to the Staging Holding Area.

In the Prep Department, tasks are completed in preparation for various other processes of the manufacturing process. These tasks include but are not limited to sewing chain, making storage bags and cutting/measuring Velcro and or other components.

3.   Staging/Packing area

Staging/Packing tasks begin when all other tasks are complete and the curtain bin has been moved to the holding area. One at a time each curtain is removed from the bin, placed on the folding table and attached to the hanging system. Once the curtain is raised both sides are carefully inspected and the build sheet is initialed as verification that there are no flaws. The curtain is then lowered onto the folding table, removed from the hanger and fan-folded for packing. The curtain is packed into a plastic bag then placed in an appropriate sized BellaTEX storage bag.  A descriptive muslin label is then attached to the bag and it is placed in the correct shipping container.

4.   Shipping & receiving

The shipping process requires that the individual be capable of lifting heavy objects on a regular basis. This task includes preparing the appropriate shipping container for the staging/packing area; as well as verifying that every item on the pick list is in the container and that a packing list is attached. This process also includes completing computerized shipping information and documentation. In addition, communication and tracking with the carrier is often necessary.

Receiving of goods is completed in various ways depending on what is being received and these instructions are kept in a binder on the shop clerk desk. .

5.   Fabrication department

When a sales order has rigging components on it, the shop clerk is required to go to the fabrication area and pull/pack them for shipping. Assembly, alteration and or fabrication of these components may be necessary and precise instruction must be followed.

6.   SCREEN-PRINTING

When no other tasks are necessary, the shop clerk will be required to operate the screen-printing press to print our custom BellaTEX t-shirts and storage bags.

Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.
